Identify the Right Global Education Consultancy

For a student who wishes to pursue his/her higher studies abroad, it is a quite daunting task to make all the right decisions in the process of identifying the right institution and the right place to do so. The situation becomes even more complex if there is no one in the family or among the known ones who too has any such information. Such situation of uncertainties can be really tormenting for anyone. Fortunately, internet today gives a lot of information related to ways to curb such stressful situations and find the right place and also the best institution to go ahead with.

Despite that, the factor for uncertainty stays on because most of the information online too is doctored to promote brand of respective institution, and so relying only upon that is also not a wise choice. Then how is it that you as a seeker can get the information you want that you can rely upon. A global education consultancy can always be your best choice in this regard. Such consultancies can be found nearby you, or you could also approach a few of them over the internet.

There are two prime ways by which one can establish the credibility about one such consultancy. These ways are:

Forum Websites

These websites are an open platform for individuals to discuss about different areas of interests. With so much to talk about, there are several such websites, which also include the ones related to education abroad. Many of these also rate each global education consultancy based upon its past record as well as infrastructure, which can be more than useful to use. Being hosted and discussed about by individuals, it is unlikely that their information will be wrong, if at all.

Personal Visit

By doing so, you can not only get to see the infrastructure of the institution but also will be able to get some reviews from students who are already availing its services. You can also get to have a better view into their past record, which is always seen not only by prospective students but also educational institutions to establish the efficiency of the firm. A global education consultancy with an impressive past record will be preferred by educational institutions too, which in turn will also encourage students to sign up for its services.

Every global educational consultancy has a procedure that it follows to help a student get established in his new campus and feel as much comfortable in there as possible. For achieving this, many consultancies conduct training workshops from time to time, which vary from skill to skill, depending upon what kind of session a particular student batch is in need of.

Such sessions can also be divided into further sub-sections, which resolve any kind of query that a student may have in his/her mind. A few of these are:

Relocation Session: This will be related to all queries related to settling down in the new country, including hostel accommodation, meals, locality, etc.

Interview Session: This will be related to all the questions that the student will face before he is being signed up into the educational institution.

Placement Session: This will be related to the placement record of the institution, and what all options a student will have in his hands upon the completion of his course.

Financial assistance session: This will include counseling related to any financial aid a student is in need of, and also helping him/her out with the same in the process

Cultural Session: This will be related to information about the culture of the country the student will be relocating too, including its and bits of certain things that one may need to carry out while staying in that country.

Assisting Students With College Admissions

Here five reasons how an educational consultant can help your student with college admissions:

1. Educational consultants do not guarantee students admission to any particular college. They do, however, assist students with the college search to find schools that are a good fit and affordable at the same time. They also provide information and assistance with financial aid, scholarships, and the FAFSA form. They know that some colleges are more generous with financial aid and scholarships and encourage students to include a few of these on their college list if they are a good match.

2. Educational consultants have the time and interest to help your student with anything pertaining to the college admissions process. They are available to talk with parents as questions arise. They advise students on what courses to take in high school, when to take the SAT and ACT, college visits, and even do mock interviews to help students prepare for meetings with college representatives. College counseling and assisting students with their applications and essays is their job and they are not limited in the time they can spend or distracted by other responsibilities.

3. Educational consultants make a point of finding schools that are interested in seeing your student graduate in four years, rather than the usual, five, six or more. Paying for two additional years of college can really add up. Most parents would be surprised to see the low four year graduation rate at many schools. The average six year graduation rate for colleges and universities in the U.S. is 54%, yet many schools are graduating 60% or more of their students in four years. This makes better sense to most parents.

4. Educational consultants help to keep your student organized in order to meet all deadlines for applications, supplements and financial aid and scholarships. Students appreciate having a schedule and completing an application so that there is plenty of time to review it before it must be submitted. This helps them feel more in control of the college admissions process. Colleges all have different application deadlines from November through June and many will not accept applications if they arrive late.

5. Educational consultants adhere to strict standards and have one purpose in mind: Helping your student navigate the college admissions process. They are trained in college counseling and attend national and state conferences to continue their professional development. They are active in professional organizations like the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA).

Most educators believe that more time and thought needs to go into college planning and helping students with the college search. Hiring an educational consultant to assist with this process has made a lot of sense to many parents and has helped their students make better college decisions. As one father commented, “If I am spending this kind of money on a college education, I want the best advice I can get.”

Immortalizing Values Through Education

Education is the primary agent of transformation towards sustainable development, increasing people’s capacities to transform their visions for society into reality. Education not only provides scientific and technical skills, it also provides the motivation, and social support for pursuing and applying them. For this reason, society must be deeply concerned that much of current education falls far short of what is required. When we say this, it reflects the very necessities across the cultures that allow everyone become responsible towards quality enhancement.

Improving the quality and revelation of education and reorienting its goals to recognize the importance of sustainable development must be among society’s highest priorities. It is not that we talk only about environment but also about every component of life.

We therefore need to clarify the concept of education for sustainable development. It was a major challenge for educators during the last decade. The meanings of sustainable development in educational set ups, the appropriate balance of peace, human rights, citizenship, social equity, ecological and development themes in already overloaded curricula, and ways of integrating the humanities, the social sciences and the arts into what had up-to-now been seen and practiced as a branch of science education.

Some argued that educating for sustainable development ran the risk of programming while others wondered whether asking schools to take a lead in the transition to sustainable development was asking too much of teachers.

These debates were compounded by the desire of many, predominantly environmental, NGOs to contribute to educational planning without the requisite understanding of how education systems work, how educational change and innovation takes place, and of relevant curriculum development, professional development and instructive values. Not realizing that effective educational change takes time, others were critical of governments for not acting more quickly.

Consequently, many international, regional and national initiatives have contributed to an expanded and refined understanding of the meaning of education for sustainable development. For example, Education International, the major umbrella group of teachers’ unions and associations in the world, has issued a declaration and action plan to promote sustainable development through education.

A common agenda in all of these is the need for an integrated approach through which all communities, government entities, collaborate in developing a shared understanding of and commitment to policies, strategies and programs of education for sustainable development.

Actively promoting the integration of education into sustainable development at local community

In addition, many individual governments have established committees, panels, advisory councils and curriculum development projects to discuss education for sustainable development, develop policy and appropriate support structures, programs and resources, and fund local initiatives.

Indeed, the roots of education for sustainable development are firmly planted in the environmental education efforts of such groups. Along with global education, development education, peace education, citizenship education, human rights education, and multicultural and anti-racist education that have all been significant, environmental education has been particularly significant. In its brief thirty-year history, contemporary environmental education has steadily striven towards goals and outcomes similar and comparable to those inherent in the concept of sustainability.

A New Vision for Education

These many initiatives illustrate that the international community now strongly believes that we need to foster – through education – the values, behavior and lifestyles required for a sustainable future. Education for sustainable development has come to be seen as a process of learning how to make decisions that consider the long-term future of the economy, ecology and social well-being of all communities. Building the capacity for such futures-oriented thinking is a key task of education.

This represents a new vision of education, a vision that helps learners better understand the world in which they live, addressing the complexity and inter-contentedness of problems such as poverty, wasteful consumption, environmental degradation, urban decay, population growth, gender inequality, health, conflict and the violation of human rights that threaten our future. This vision of education emphasizes a holistic, interdisciplinary approach to developing the knowledge and skills needed for a sustainable future as well as changes in values, behavior, and lifestyles. This requires us to reorient education systems, policies and practices in order to empower everyone, young and old, to make decisions and act in culturally appropriate and locally relevant ways to redress the problems that threaten our common future. We therefore need to think globally and act locally. In this way, people of all ages can become empowered to develop and evaluate alternative visions of a sustainable future and to fulfill these visions through working creatively with others.

Seeking sustainable development through education requires educators to:

• Place an ethic for living sustainable, based upon principles of social justice, democracy, peace and ecological integrity, at the center of society’s concerns.
• Encourage a meeting of disciplines, a linking of knowledge and of expertise, to create understandings that are more integrated and contextualized.
• Encourage lifelong learning, starting at the beginning of life and stuck in life – one based on a passion for a radical transformation of the moral character of society.
• Develop to the maximum the potential of all human beings throughout their lives so that they can achieve self-fulfillment and full self-expression with the collective achievement of a viable future.
• Value aesthetics, the creative use of the imagination, an openness to risk and flexibility, and a willingness to explore new options.
• Encourage new alliances between the State and civil society in promoting citizens’ liberation and the practice of democratic principles.
• Mobilize society in an intensive effort so as to eliminate poverty and all forms of violence and injustice.
• Encourage a commitment to the values for peace in such a way as to promote the creation of new lifestyles and living patterns
• Identify and pursue new human projects in the context of local sustainability within an earthly realization and a personal and communal awareness of global responsibility.
• Create realistic hope in which the possibility of change and the real desire for change are accompanied by a rigorous, active participation in change, at the appropriate time, in favor of a sustainable future for all.

These responsibilities emphasize the key role of educators as ambassador of change. There are over 60 million teachers in the world – and each one is a key ambassador for bringing about the changes in lifestyles and systems that we need. But, education is not confined to the classrooms of formal education. As an approach to social learning, education for sustainable development also encompasses the wide range of learning activities in basic and post-basic education, technical and vocational training and tertiary education, and both non-formal and informal learning by both young people and adults within their families and workplaces and in the wider community. This means that all of us have important roles to play as both ‘learners’ and ‘teachers’ in advancing sustainable development.

Key Lessons

Deciding how education should contribute to sustainable development is a major task. In coming to decisions about what approaches to education will be locally relevant and culturally appropriate, countries, educational institutions and their communities may take heed of the following key lessons learnt from discussion and debate about education and sustainable development over the past decade.

• Education for sustainable development must explore the economic, political and social implications of sustainability by encouraging learners to reflect critically on their own areas of the world, to identify non-viable elements in their own lives and to explore the tensions among conflicting aims. Development strategies suited to the particular circumstances of various cultures in the pursuit of shared development goals will be crucial. Educational approaches must take into account the experiences of indigenous cultures and minorities, acknowledging and facilitating their original and significant contributions to the process of sustainable development.

• The movement towards sustainable development depends more on the development of our moral sensitivities than on the growth of our scientific understanding – important as that is. Education for sustainable development cannot be concerned only with disciplines that improve our understanding of nature, despite their undoubted value. Success in the struggle for sustainable development requires an approach to education that strengthens our engagement in support of other values – especially justice and fairness – and the awareness that we share a common destiny with others.

• Ethical values are the principal factor in social consistency and at the same time, the most effective agent of change and transformation. Ultimately, sustainability will depend on changes in behavior and lifestyles, changes which will need to be motivated by a shift in values and rooted in the cultural and moral precepts upon which behavior is based. Without change of this kind, even the most enlightened legislation, the cleanest technology, the most sophisticated research will not succeed in steering society towards the long-term goal of sustainability.

• Changes in lifestyle will need to be accompanied by the development of an ethical awareness, whereby the inhabitants of rich countries discover within their cultures the source of a new and active solidarity, which will make possible to eradicate the widespread poverty that now besets 80% of the world’s population as well as the environmental degradation and other problems linked to it.

• Ethical values are shaped through education, in the broadest sense of the term. Education is also essential in enabling people to use their ethical values to make informed and ethical choices. Fundamental social changes, such as those required to move towards sustainability, come about either because people sense an ethical imperative to change or because leaders have the political will to lead in that direction and sense that the people will follow them.

Understanding Education in the Environmental Field

There have been a lot of changes in the education field and schools are offering new and different courses to keep up with the times. The way in which classes are taught and the types of technologies used in the classrooms are also changing with our changing times. The types of classes being taught and the subjects of study available today are in response to the changing interests and needs of our society. The classes and subjects in demand are geared towards solving problems that we as a country are facing and that are relevant to our society today.

What type of skills you need from education in environmental field will have a lot to do with what you want to do with that education. There is a lot of variety in the subject matter of education in the environmental field depending on what industry you are dealing with. It can be very specific depending on the industry. For example, if you want to go into the field of leather production to study the environmental effect, you will have to know about how the products used in leather affect the environment. You will also have to know what to do to lessen the effect of the leather production on the environment.

It is not enough to have a degree from a good university to get a job in the environmental field. You should have a good understanding of the theories of environmental education and a good background in science as well. Other qualities that you need to have are the ability to do your work in the great outdoors, and the ability to communicate well with other people in your industry.

If you want to get into the education in environmental field, you probably won’t have a very hard time finding a good job because you will be in great demand. A lot of schools, universities and other organizations need someone in the education in environmental field to help them with many different tasks. You will also need to be a good leader and be organized so you and the students can get through your lessons successfully and they can learn what you want to teach them.

After you finish your education in environmental field, you are ready to start your job search in the education in environmental field. You can find a job in a variety of different industries or in schools and universities in your area depending on what you want to do with your education. If you end up working for a company or professional group, you will need to do many different things including making sure the company has a business plan that is going to be good for the environment, changing policies that negatively affect the environment and making sure the company or organization meets all the necessary environmental standards in the industry.

Continuing Education Courses

Education is one of, if not the most valuable attributes an individual can have. With education someone is able to solve problems, sell products, analyze data, and much more. There are many different types of continuing education available. There is industry specific continuing education. This type of education is usually required by the state and enforced by state legislature. Some common forms of continuing education are continuing legal education (for lawyers), insurance continuing education (for insurance agents), real estate continuing education (for realtors) and adjuster continuing education (for public and insurance adjusters). These are just a few of the regulated professions out there. Most of these professionals do their continuing education either online or in a classroom to meet their compliance deadline.

Another type of continuing education is for individuals who want to go back to school to enhance their resume, change career fields or move up in their current company. Formal education at a college or University is one of the most widely used resources for everyone. College classes used to be done on campus, but now with technology changing online courses for adults have taken a huge leap. They are now almost as popular as adults continuing their education in a classroom. Many students complete a bachelor’s degree then work full-time for 15-20 years. They then find out they need higher education to continue to advance their career. This is where online education comes into play. Adults are able to balance their career, school, and their families at the same time. With the economy changing, other online students decide to go back to school for a complete career change. The healthcare industry for example has been booming. So a Master’s in Healthcare Management has been a popular degree choice over the past five years.

Adults are not the only ones utilizing online courses. Many 18-25 year old students also pursue online education. Many feel online education is more flexible and easier to do. They also like the fact they are learning the same material whether in a classroom or online. This was a major issue some time ago. Employers perceived online education as a “discounted” degree and only hired graduates from a campus based institution. Times have definitely changed! Now, large Universities such as Penn State, Drexler, and even Harvard offer online classes and online degree programs. These larger accredited institutions have really helped change the perception of an online degree.

Online Insurance Continuing Education

There comes a point when an insurance agent needs to participate in the expansion of their insurance continuing education in order to stay legally qualified to sell and promote their particular insurance. To most agents, this is tedious, though it’s necessary for the sake of legalities. The fact of the matter is that each state determines the amount of education needed to either become or remain a certified insurance agent, and the state also dictates which education provider meets their standards. While it may seem like a chore to take the time out of your day to attend a class in order for you to stay current with the changes within your given industry, that isn’t to say there isn’t an alternative. This is where you can skip the headache and participate in an online insurance continuing education instead.

Laws and policies are constantly changing. What an agent practices this year might become below standard next year. So it’s not that insurance continuing education doesn’t have its place; it most certainly does. Knowing and understand the various ethical practices and legalities is critical for both your company, and your employment. You may even it as an annoyance, like having to go through all the work of filing your taxes each year. That’s a fair outlook, but that doesn’t change the fact that any serious insurance agent is going to have to become periodically re-educated, and so there’s no better way to minimize the sting of the situation than to maximize the convenience of it, hence attending an online insurance continuing education.

The benefits of educating yourself online should be quite clear to you already. After all, who wants to have to set aside an entire day to attend a class, or to leave home early or stay after work late in order to fulfill the state imposed educational requirements? Not many people would enjoy that, so finding an online insurance continuing education program that meets the prerequisites and standards is – without a doubt – your best option.

An abundance of insurance types and providers exist, and there’s a bit more to consider in an online insurance continuing education provider. There are companies who provide adequate information and training for a plethora of insurance types, but not all are equal. You don’t want to overspend on a service just to get the bare minimum education to meet legal requirements. It’s best for you to seek out a reliable company with a proven record of keeping training very simple, while over-delivering while maintaining a low cost.

All costs are completely up-front and affordable, while the education being provided is very clear and top-notch. Regardless of the insurance you sell or company you work with, you’ll find the mentioned online insurance continuing education provider to offer whatever training you need, all from the convenience of your computer.

Since, you are online most of your material is online, so the cost is at a fraction of would a normal university can charge. Being A Good Special Education Teacher

Education is one of the most rewarding professions. Special education is particularly rewarding. The joy you feel when a person who is having problems makes some progress is unmatched in any other field. But to be a special education teacher takes a special type of person. It not only requires special training, one must also be very patient and love people no matter what their special needs. If you are the type of person who combines all these elements then a career in special education could be for you.

To teach special education you must be licensed. Getting a license requires you to have at least a bachelor’s degree and complete an approved training course in teaching special education. Some states require a master’s degree. Acquiring the training is not very difficult. Many colleges offer undergraduate, graduate and doctorate level courses in the field. Teachers who want to focus on special education often have to complete longer periods of training than teachers in other areas. You can choose to specialize within the special education field or you may pursue general special education training. The last year of training usually entails working in a classroom under the supervision of a certified teacher.

Teachers wishing to work in special education often receive general training and must then receive further training in a particular area that prepares them to work with people with physical, mental or emotional difficulties. Depending on the state in which you live or hope to work you may be required to be licensed to teach people with a wide range of disabilities or one of the many different subsets within special education. You should contact the board of education in your state to find out their specific requirement for certification.

There are alternate routes to a career in special education. Some states allow people with at least a bachelor’s degree who receive supervised training through a college or an accredited program, teach under supervision for 12 to 24 months and pass an assessment test to be certified. Many of these alternative certification classes are designed to encourage people without a traditional teaching background to enter the profession. These non-traditional teachers may bring unique talents in art or music which they attempt to use to reach out to students who traditional teaching methods have been unable to reach.

But teaching those with special needs requires more than academic training. It takes dedication to master the craft. There have been many instances where people with excellent teaching credentials and a genuine interest in helping special needs students have been unable to succeed when they try to work in special education. Working with people with special needs can frustrate even the most well-meaning individuals. Some come into the field with unrealistic expectations of the impact they can have on the students they work with. Often the pace of learning is glacially slow or the students and the new teacher fail to connect for whatever reason.

Some new teachers fit right in. They are able to reach the students and help them to make remarkable strides. Other new teachers are just naturally patient and accept the pace at which their students learn and are satisfied when the students make incremental progress. Occasionally there are special education teachers who are able to make major breakthroughs. They may have a natural feel for the classroom and the students or are able to create innovative ways to reach the students and help them to make real progress. Their new techniques can then be shared with others in the field.

Patience, creativity, organization, the ability to accept and understand the differences in others and the ability to motivate people with special needs are essential for a successful career. Often teachers who are able to identify, appreciate and celebrate small victories with their students find it easier to work with students with special needs. But there are no hard and fast rules. Teachers must know the basics of education, but to be successful they must also be perceptive and, above all else, patient.

Few things are more rewarding than knowing you have made an impact on the lives of people who are struggling to reach their full potential. If this holds interest for you then you may be ideally suited for a career as a special education teacher.
